Welcome to Highlands Hammock State Park. It is one of the oldest parks in Florida. It has been starting to open in 1931. This park was established if the local citizens gathered to promote the Hammock as a contestant of national park status. The park is well known for a gorgeous old-growth hammock and old oaks for thousand years. Fauna like Ferns and air plants are plenteous. You also can find Black bear and the Florida panther which softly tread through the hammock and sometimes may catch a glimpse. It perfects for camping, tram tour, recreation, picnic pavilions, or just cycling.
